2007 YPII Jam participants

An exciting action packed event on July 12-13th at Franklin College, Franklin, IN, focused on current technology and youth culture. The theme, You Too- Make a Difference used the popular concepts of You Tube, MySpace, Pod Casts, etc. and connected contemporary media to making a difference in our life, communities and world when we give time talent and treasure for the common good. Technology was used on sight to connect conference participants to friends who were not able to attend.

Back by popular demand was Anna Scally, an internationally known presenter, speaker, and facilitator who engaged Jam participants throughout the two-day event. This event was priced at a very affordable rate of $75 per person. See the event brochure (PDF).

The conference is for 13-19 year-olds and the adults who work with them.

Presentation Process

Great Grants/Super Service Activities from the 2006 YP Jam:

Eleven groups gave presentations of Great Grants or Super Service activities at the 2006 YP Jam in July. YPII offered cash awards of $500 each for the two best Great Grants/Super Service Activities. Jam participants evaluated all presentations and scores were based on particular criteria. The two winning organizations and their service projects: The Lawrence Central Spanish Club has sponsored a house for a Hispanic family in which they plan to paint, garden, stock cabinets with food, and supply school clothes for the children along with new linens. The DIAMONDS , a group from the YMCA of Southern Indiana, will be hosting a "senior prom" for New Albany's senior citizens. The "prom" will give older adults a chance to dance, snack, and spend time with each other and the youth volunteers that will be attending. The $1,000 in grant awards was made possible by the Dekko Foundation.
