New Jersey Reaches Out to Community

New Jersey Students Celebrate "Youth in Philanthropy: Together We Can Make A Difference"

The Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) Program is an award-winning program that recognizes and encourages the impact New Jersey educators and children can have on the quality of American life and our future. YIP builds civic engagement and teaches an American tradition that has made our country great: giving time, talent and/or treasure for the public good. Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) has introduced the concept of giving for the common good to 24,000 students and their teachers. Students, in turn have awakened to the needs of others and their own potential to make a difference in their communities.  For more information go to www.rs6.net

YP Jam is a Great Success!

Nearly 100 youth and adults got a taste of the extreme experience of philanthropy at the YP Jam 2004. Franklin College provided the perfect setting for the event on July 6th and 7th.  For those who attended their comments included: "awesome and fun workshops!", "a real learning experience", "a great chance to meet new people".  The participants were given many new ideas about service projects they can do in their own communities.  Thanks to the Efroymson Fund, the Moore Foundation and Indianapolis Foundation for their generous financial support.
