Global Youth Volunteerism Discussion
Who benefits most from youth volunteerism? Who should benefit most? What are some "best practices" and lessons for maximizing the impact and the learning that come from global volunteer

exchanges?
The Northwestern University Center for Global Engagement is organizing an online discussion about Global Youth Volunteerism. This discussion will lead to a group blog which will help the ENGAGE Uganda program, a 9-week summer study program at Northwestern, to develop and implement small scale projects.

Pay It Forward Mini-Grants
Pay It Forward Mini-Grants are designed to fund one-time-only service-oriented projects identified by youth as activities they would like to perform to benefit their school, neighborhood or greater community. Projects must contain a "pay it forward" focus -- that is, they must be based on the concept of one person doing a favor for others, who in turn do favors for others, with the results growing exponentially -- to be considered in the grantmaking process. Application deadlines are January 15, April 15 and October 15 of each year.
Mini-grants of up to $500 are available for projects on a one-time-only basis. Schools, churches and community youth groups (with an adult sponsor) may apply for funding. Youths or adults may complete the application. Groups whose members are all over the age of 18 must include work with youth under the age of 18 as part of their projects.
