YOUNG HOOSIER PHILANTHROPIST: ABRAXAS SEGUNDO Abraxas Segundo is a senior at Bloomington High School North in Bloomington, Indiana who joined the Teen Action Project (TAP), the youth service and leadership program of the City of Bloomington Volunteer Network. TAP empowers teens with the
knowledge and skills to get them involved in their community. Abraxas volunteers as a producer and sound board operator at WFHB, the local community radio station for a weekly Spanish radio show called "Hola, Bloomington!" "I realized that many Hispanics in my community had trouble socializing with non-Hispanics and it troubled me," said Abraxas. "I decided if I could get involved with "Hola Bloomington!" I would be able to help people learn about upcoming events so they could get out and feel more at home in the community." Abraxas received the "Power of Children" award in 2005 for making a difference in Indiana.
