Service Projects from YP Jam
Participants who attended the 2006 YP Jam were challenged to do the "dance of community action." Participants presented their organizational and implementation plans for a service project in their community. Two $500 grants were awarded to two organizations for their great grant/super activity award.

The Lawrence Central High School Spanish Club was one of the winners and Cheryl Rich (teacher) and Pam Holtz (student and Jam participant) are pleased to receive the $500 check from YPII Program Director, Eileen Ryan. The Spanish Club will be working to assist Hispanic businesses in the local community.

All YP Jam participants are challenged with continuing to plan, organize and implement a service project within their local communities. A $500 grant will be awarded for one service project and the charitable organization involved with it. To be eligible for the award, the service project must be implemented before May 31, 2007, be youth-led and planned with a YP Jam participant. More details will be coming in the December E-chronicle.
