National Philanthropy Day
November 15 is National Philanthropy Day, a day designed to celebrate giving.  We hope you will choose to be active in celebrating this year's National Philanthropy Day, and we encourage you to work with other organizations in your community to promote it. The philanthropic community is strong yet varied, and each individual voice is equally important on this day of recognition and reflection.

YPII Participates in 2007
Spirit & Place Festival: Living Generously
What constitutes a generous community? What are the social, historical, religious and cultural contexts for living generously? Find answers (and many more questions) at the 2007 Spirit & Place Festival, November 2-18, 2007. Immerse yourself in stories from teenagers and older adults, from veterans and incarcerated girls, from singers and poets, from sacred texts and local history, from people around the corner and people around the world.  Choose from 71 events for all ages – workshops, concerts, intergenerational gatherings, plays, lectures, demonstrations, poetry readings, panel discussions, worship services and more, and discover how Living Generously matters in our cultures and communities.

As part of the celebration, the YPII Network is partnering with The Children's Museum and Indiana Grantmakers Alliance for a philanthropy fair.  The event will take place at The Children's Museum on Saturday, November 10 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  The fair coincides with the new Children's Museum exhibit entitled, The Power of Children: Making a Difference.

YouTube Nonprofit Program
YouTube has announced the YouTube Nonprofit Program, a way to help people find, watch and engage with nonprofit video content. YouTube's Nonprofit Program enables 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to receive a free, specific nonprofit YouTube channel where they can upload footage of their work, public service announcements, calls to action and more. The channel will also allow them to collect donations with no processing costs using the newly launched Google Checkout for Non-Profits. YouTube's global platform enables nonprofits to deliver their message, showcase their impact and needs, and encourage supporters to take action.

High School Volunteer Survey
The Emergent Leadership Institute is currently conducting a survey of Central Indiana high school students to gain insight into students' needs for volunteer activities and community service. Students completing the survey will be eligible to win one of two $50 Best Buy gift cards. An email address is required to register, but will be discarded following the drawing.
