 | YP Jam 2006: Great Grants/Super Service Awards Eleven groups gave presentations of Great Grants or Super Service
activities at the 2006 YP Jam in July. YPII offered cash awards of $500 each for the two best Great Grants/Super Service Activities. Jam participants evaluated all presentations and scores were based on particular criteria. The two winning organizations and their service projects: The Lawrence Central Spanish Club has sponsored a house for a Hispanic family in which they plan to paint, garden, stock cabinets with food, and supply school clothes for the children along with new linens. The DIAMONDS
, a group from the YMCA of Southern Indiana, will be hosting a "senior prom" for New Albany's senior citizens. The "prom" will give older adults a chance to dance, snack, and spend time with each other and the youth volunteers that will be attending. The $1,000 in grant awards was made possible by the Dekko Foundation.

Assessing the YP Initiative YPII is contracting with the Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) "Briefcase" service to evaluate the Initiative's work. You may be receiving a call or e-mail to give input on the work of YPII. Please help us better serve you by responding to any requests. IYI offers this valuable, low cost service to youth-serving organizations in Indiana. Find out more about
IYI's Briefcase service. Additionally, an online survey to assess our E-Chronicle will be included in next month's publication. Results of the evaluation will help YPII plan effectively, meet your needs, and provide valuable information for funders.
Young Hoosier Philanthropists Our monthly E-Chronicle will begin highlighting Young Hoosier Philanthropists who are doing outstanding work in giving their time, talent and treasure for the common good. Please also send a photo (by e-mail if possible) we can include with the article to jfinn@ypin.org. In addition to being featured in each E-Chronicle
