Program Description:
The Harrison County Youth Philanthropy Council is committed to growing young philanthropists who give and serve for the common good; now and forever. Our goals are to develop young leaders, promote civic engagement, and ensure that young people are aware, educated, and involved in philanthropy.
Community Partners:
Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, Harrison County
Community Foundation, United Way, Corydon Rotary, School systems.
Total grant amount given each year and number of grants awarded:
$10,000 through approximately 12-20 grants

If applicable, how are funds raised each year?
The members of the Youth Philanthropy Councils of Clark, Floyd and Harrison
Counties have drafted a Fund Development plan which will be implemented this
year. It includes:
1. Annual Campaign of YPC Members
2. Direct Mail Appeal
3. Corporate/Business Contributions
4. Grant Applications:
5. Fall Dollar Drive in all the schools.

12-15 youth and 2-5 adults
Who staffs the program:
We have a consultant who works 12 hours a week for
three counties.
