Program Description:
Organized in 2002, The Orange County Community Foundation Youth Council was formed from the vision of growing lifelong philanthropists who became active in making a difference in their community. The Orange County Community Foundation Youth Council consists of 20 plus members equally representing grades eight through twelve from the three school districts in Orange County. The four county mentors and staff coordinator serve as advisors to the youth council members. Along with the experience of their first grant cycle, the Orange County Community Foundation Youth Council has been involved in several community projects.
The OCCF YC has evolved into an educated committee prepared to serve the needs, and make a difference for the citizens of Orange County, and a committee who has lived up the expectations of the original vision, becoming active philanthropists, who are making a difference, and along the way realizing the potential of what they can accomplish together through a youth perspective.
