Program Description:
This youth and adult board raises money and supports local community service projects through a grant process. They take particular interest in the issue of diversity: combating hatred and violence through dialog and understanding, thus plan an annual CommUNITY Conference on Diversity, inviting all county high schools to participate.
Community Partners:
Twenty-first Century Scholars, United Way, YMCA (Urban
Youth Services), Local Private and Public Schools.
Total grant amount given each year and number of grants awarded.
Averages: 4-5 projects, totaling $5,000 to the community annually (including CommUNITY Youth Conference)

No, we don't have an endowment at this point.
If applicable, how are funds raised each year?
All funds are raised through fund-raising events: Silent Auctions, art auction, car wash, BBQ Chicken sale, or grant-writing efforts by staff. YAR was awarded a first prize, $5,000 Hometown Pride Award through Midwest Living Magazine, August 2003.
